Lifestyle Choices We Make

Have you ever thought what is really necessary for people to lead a normal and simple life? There are several personal reasons why people change their lifestyle by becoming anti-consumerists and banning materialism.  Hence, one of the reasons to change people's lifestyle is that the desire of having expensive items most often takes them to stress and mental disorders.
By simplifying one's life the importance is fixed on more of the valuable things in life, like spirituality, good health and healthy eating, meeting family more often. It is not by chance, "the best things in life are free." Throughout the article I am sharing with you how to become happy with simple life solutions based upon my experience.

If you are willing to have a life free of stress and ready to notice things that are of permanent value, then you should teach yourself to be giving away. In every giving, there should not be waiting for the others to 'pay' you back. Items, materials, become less of the importance for you.
An example of mine is that I gave my favorite earrings to my sister, as they suited her so well, and she was excited to wear them. For a couple of minutes I was embarrassed, it was hard to give them up. It didn't last long, because the relief of self-confidence and the spirit of willingness came forward to point out values that are more important in life as compared to that of the materialistic world.

Sometimes society is playing an important role in shaping your lifestyle. Depending on the type of people you spend time, will determine the style of life you lead. The good thing is to avoid those whose thoughts and energy are all the time focused on how to get this or that expensive item, when you see so much suffering in their eyes. It's all about stress, which will subconsciously be transferred to you.

Find yourself in the nature more frequently, as most often we tend to forget that all of us are a part of it. In the morning one wakes up in a box, which is the house; nest is to take a bus or to drive to the workplace - the office, that is the third box after the car or a bus. So, get back to nature, feel its welcoming and energetic source.
People who are self-sufficient are more inclined to simple life, when hey make their own food, a small piece of art just decorate the kitchen wall and the green mint is growing in the backyard to supply with everyday mint tea.

How To Get Rid Of Your Facebook Habit

Nowadays life is fulfilled in abundant amounts of technologies that take us away from the real life itself. Cell phones, computers have become tools for people to get the overwhelming information about what is going on in the world. An inseparable part of this development in technologies is the merging of social networking sites, without which most of the people can hardly imagine their lives going on.
Users of Facebook spend an enormous amount of time being online, which results in things still waiting to be done, work unfinished and isolation from family, friends. You may think that it's a means of learning, finding useful information for life, and at least keeping in touch with friends that you can hardly manage to see even once a month.

The article is not about how to give up Facebook, but how to use it in an adequate way. It's said wisely, that everything is good in measures; meaning that too much of everything will result in undesirable consequences. Hence, you should make the site a tool for you to get all the daily need for communication or the information, and not to the site to make you a tool in itself.

1. Limit and fix a certain time you are supposed to spend on Facebook. For example, if you do activities like chatting, sharing, posting for 2 hours a day, just cut it for one hour for a week. Next week it will be 30 minutes, and gradually minimizing the time spent on it.

2. You have got your Facebook app on your cell phone; isn't it wise to get rid of it in order to put aside all those alarming moments when you are waiting someone to answer you back? The mind is always busy with getting messages every moment; you are sitting with your beloved a message received, and you are sorry just to check it, even if you know that you are not waiting for any special one.

3. Facebook page open and minimized, while you are working. Have you tried to do your work without your profile logged in? If not, it's the high time to think about it and compare the quickness and the quality of the work done when Facebook free. You need to promise yourself that as soon as the work is finished, you are going to have a quick check on it. This will save you the accusing thought towards you, when you still are going on and on being online.

4. It's always amazing to talk to friends, relatives, even if when it's all about chat. But think about  holding real conversations and looking into each others eyes, as most often those with whom we chat, are people living in the nearby neighborhood. Make it your habit to meet them and talk just face to face.

5. Have you ever thought to have some private corner of your life? Do you think it is necessary for all the Facebook inhabitants to know what is going in your private life, what's your favorite underwear, or where and with whom you had a coffee an hour before? So, keep people interested in you, don't go first to open everything about you.

6. Find out the impacts of your habit. The  steps to undertake in order to get rid of your Facebook habit are worthless, if you still do not realize and put down on the paper, how it impacts on your everyday life. It's just a habit and habits do change if one really wants.

When is the Best Time to Work Out?

The best time to work out may vary with different people. Some people prefer to exercise early in the morning, midday, others prefer midnight. But what is the best time for you to work out?

Studies have shown that there is no set time during the day for a person to work out. If you feel that you exercise hard in the morning and have no fatigue afterward, it means your body is for morning exercise.  If the midday is the right time for you to prepare yourself for working out, when your body is already warmed up, then stick to the habit and exercise regularly during midday. Some people prefer a midnight schedule for exercising, when the mind is free from thought about thing awaiting to be done for the rest of the day.

If you feel like exercising with a partner gives you more energy and motivation for having the desired results, then what you can do is to match your schedule with that of the person you can exercise with.
It is important to note, that there is no fixed time during the day when calories are burned more efficiently. But the time determines how you feel when exercising.
Besides the work, family schedules and exercise partner availability, you should also take into consideration your body clock to point out the right time for the body to exercise.  Regardless of your being an early bird, or a night owl, there is no point in alerting your habit, as it is unchangeable in fact. Early bird or night owl is determined in accordance with your circadian rhythm of your body. Body pressure, hormone levels, heart rate is influenced by these rhythms, which determines your readiness to exercise.

However, research suggests that those who exercise regularly at a fixed time, meaning, they have a regular habit, they tend to do better. Though it is recommended for those early birds to warm up the body a little bit longer in the morning as compared with the midday and midnight exercises.
There is a common concern whether to eat before exercising in the morning, or to go with an empty stomach. Studies suggest that exercising without fuel, that is food, will cause in early fatigue and dizziness. If you have at least two or three hours before exercise, you should eat your breakfast. In case you just woke up and going to exercise right away, then take a simple food like one banana or cracks. To take a heavy food before exercising is not recommended, as the body needs enough time to digest. While you are exercising the energy goes to muscles, while there is not enough energy for the stomach to digest the food. Besides, it will be uncomfortable to work out with a full stomach.
If you have a habit to eat some kind of sugary food before exercising, keep in mind that, sugar causes in early fatigue. In case, you feel like it is impossible for you to go without anything sugary before exercising, then take your sweets 5 or ten minutes before at least. However, people deal with food digestion in different ways, so you should find out what food is good for your body that forges comfort during the exercise.

The Impact of Music on Brain

Our brains respond differently to happy or sad music, for the one sad music is enjoyable, for the other it's not that preferable as it brings forward negative mood and thoughts. It's interesting how music can affect our emotions; sometimes one understands the emotions of a piece of music without feeling it. A good example is, when one is listening to sad music, but he is still keeps on being in a good mood.

Many of us have the habit of putting the music aloud and making our to-do lists, but it should be mentioned; that high volume music doesn't forge creativity. Though ambient noise can improve our creativity. As one is trying to produce information, to put the brain into the process, the high noise levels reduce the amount of effort for the brain to process the information efficiently.

Though it has been tested on young adults, it's still interesting to know that the music we choose can predict our personality. According to research at Heriot-Watt University, different music genres can predict the person one becomes in certain ways.
For instance, those preferring blues tend to be more outgoing, easy-going, gentle and confident. Rock and Indie fans have low self-esteem, though the ones who prefer Indie are are inclined to be more hard-working as compared with Rock lovers.
It's a common knowledge that learning music instrument is quite beneficial for children, though its benefits are not less for the adults, as well.

Moreover, studies conducted for many years have revealed that music helps to exercise. When we are tired, the brain sends signals to the brain to have a break. Music redirects our attention from the tiredness to its sounds. Though this works for low and intensity exercise.
Depending on the music genre during the exercise, the level of motivation can be determined due to their tempos. Accordingly, one needs to find the right bit for the exercise. Drum and bass are a of great benefit to get your motivation to work out.
Music  helps not only to exercise longer but also helps to use the energy efficiently. A study conducted revealed that those who cycle with listening to music us less oxygen than the ones cycling in silence.

When listening to classic music, people tend to be more concentrated with a pure mind and thought all over the subject and task to be fulfilled.

How to Take Care of Your Skin: Basic Tips

You want to have an elastic, young and shining skin, but you still don't have enough time to go for it? With the lack of enough time, the best solution is to keep the basics. Skin is a living organism, and it needs to be taken care of constantly. To take a good care of the skin you need sun protection, as well as a gentle cleansing of it. Here below you will find some basic steps how to take care of your skin:

1. Determine your skin type. It's important to find out the type your skin, which can be oily, dry, normal and combination.

Dry skin. If the skin has several breakouts, it lacks oil and is dehydrogenated, it means it's the dry type of the skin. Use toner that will help you to avoid the feeling of a dehydrogenated skin; alcohol-based toners will dry it even more, so that while choosing any make-up product or toners, just exclude the ones which contain alcohol.

Oily skin. This type of skin is inclined to get dirt on it due to its shining oil all the time. It's peculiar for the oily skin to have blackheads, whiteheads and pimples most of the time. The treatment includes washing the face twice a day with warm water and using an alcohol-free toner, which will help to decrease the amount of the additional residues.

Normal Skin. The normal type of the skin is considered to change as the seasons change; oily in summer and dry in winter. The normal type of skin is sometimes called combination, as well. While cleansing the face be sure that it is supposed to be for a normal skin care.  Do not forget to use alcohol-free toners to keep the skin hydrated when  it's dry.

Combination. In this case there are two extreme types of skin on the face; one part of the face is dry, while nearby chin or the nose there is acne covered with oil. The treatment is the same as described above, though, in case it's a severe situation, one will need to consult a dermatologist.

2. Sun protection. It is very important to protect your skin from the unhealthy rays and the effects of the sun. The right care of the skin against sun exposure will help your skin to be free from wrinkles, aging, undesirable spots, as well as the risk of cancer.
Keep measures. Do not over cleanse or overwash the face, as it will result in dry skin even if it's an oily skin type, and for the dry one you will not have the desired effect when on extremes.

Healthy lifestyle. Quit smoking and keep your healthy eating guide always updated. Avoid stresses and mental disorders, as everything in organism is chained together.

Easy Tips to Get Motivated to Work

People need motivation in every sphere of life. One of those important spheres is the work, which will be fruitful and productive when an energy and motivation are put into force. “Oh, it's Monday again!” or “Hell, I have to do this work again!” are common concerns when one has  lost his motivation to accomplish the everyday simple tasks. You should not hurry with those negative thoughts to begin a new working day.
It is not only about the work to be motivated, as there will always be things that will help you to get motivated.

There is good news for you, as I am going to introduce some key techniques, how to get your motivation back.

1. Find out what makes you happy about your work. The work done every day becomes something ordinary and not that interesting. For that reason, one needs to 'update' the important role he has in the improvement or the handling of the job. This will remind you one more time about your importance of the work as well as the outcome you have after it.
If you don't see clearly what is done and what is not, it's practical to keep a list of the things you do during the day. At the end of the week you make a review of the list, checking the productivity of your work and getting your own positive compliment to yourself.

2. Bring difference to everyday ordinary work. While you accomplished the first key technique to point out your achievements in the work, and you still feel like lazy to go on with the job, it's time to make some difference in the work. During the day, you should not stress only one task; find something new, somehow smoother for you in the work and try to improve it.

3. Get inspired and put ambience into work. Inspiration is well-known to do wonders in people's life. Inspirations  differ from person to person; for one, it's a mere nice 'hello' and good treatment the others, for the other one there are a lot of inspiration sources which come together to make an amazing outcome.
You can also make your working day even joyful. For example, put a bowl of small candies on the corner of the table and try to be even sweeter and more friendly  when serving  clients.

4. Identify your goals. In everyday rush we are more likely to forget the goals that inspire us to keep going on. So, make your goals clear for you one more time and write down on paper (or just type and print them).
Put those papers in places where it's much easier for the eyes to catch them. After all, think what will help you to achieve those goals (for example, you want to buy a new car, or you want to make a trip to your dream destination); surely, doing a great job and earning enough.

5. Motivation is not always there. When you feel your motivation diminishing, it's not a reason to get stuck with negative thoughts. One should think that it's something to be fixed, you just need to find a way to it and keep working on it.

6. It's is your turn now. No matter how many supportive friends you have and how many pieces of paper are hanging all around your house and the workplace, the motivation will always start within you. If you want it, you will achieve it; if you think about it positively and continuously, it will happen that very way. On this regard, the book "Secret" is an excellent choice for you to read.

Why Are You Losing Your Hair?

Hair loss is one of the hottest topics in current health issues, as one third of the population suffers from it. Both men and women experience this problem, but men are more likely to lose their hair. It’s not less demoralizing for women as well, as the problem is common for them.

Hair loss reasons are multiple, ranging from diet, stress, pollution to genetics, vitamin deficiency and more complex health problems. First of all it is important to understand, what hair loss is, how it occurs before it touches you. If it’s already an issue for you, you need first to find out why your hair is falling out in order to determine the proper hair loss treatment. The article will stress upon the possible issues that cause hair loss.

Physical traumas may cause temporary hair loss. Among the traumas are different surgery processes, accidents and illnesses that trigger hair loss. It is only after 3 to 6 months that hair starts falling out as a result of a shocking event. The good news is that; it is possible to get the hair back when the hair loss has a temporary cause (as soon as the person recover, he gets his hair grown up again).

Another physical trauma causing hair loss is pregnancy. Women experience hair loss mostly after the baby has been delivered, as giving birth is quite traumatic for the body. There is no need to panic, as you will need some two months for your hair to grow back.
Research shows that the lack of protein in the body shuts down hair growth to ration it. Milk, egg, foods that contain protein should be an inseparable part of your daily menu. In two or three months the protein that lacks in the body will be expressed in the form of hair loss.

Like male pattern baldness, women are exposed to genetic hair loss, as well. If there is a woman in the family who had hair loss at a certain age, it’s much probable that you will be even vulnerable to it, your hair getting thin. To treat this kind of hair loss, you will benefit from minoxidil.

As compared with physical stress, emotional stress is less possible to cause hair loss. There is a thought that people who lose their beloveds, get divorced, as well as take care of old parents, are exposed to emotional stress causing hair loss.  If there is already a thread to your hair to start falling out, the emotional stress will just contribute to it in a negative way. The only thing you can do is to relax your nerves by reducing anxiety, as well as exercising more and talking to friends ask for help if needed.
Lots of women suffer from Anemia, which is iron deficiency in the body. The blood test will prove or reject the fact that you have that type of anemia. In case you have it, it is one of the easily corrected hair loss issues.
Vitamin B is another important pattern to have healthy hair. Like anemia, it is easily fixed hair loss issue; you need only to change your daily menu supplementing it with nuts, avocado, fruits (excluding too much citruses) and vegetables, as well as foods rich in proteins.

As you see above, the reasons causing hair loss are multiple; one needs to be caring enough about himself or herself, to determine the real cause of the hair loss issue. Just keep reading the upcoming articles where I am  going to continue the numerous hair loss causes and their prevention.

6 Ways to Choose a Book to Read

Books have always been my passion. The list of the books I have read is a huge one. On the one hand, the busy life and the everyday rush at this period of my life make me skip reading books as much as I would like to. On the other hand, the fast flow of information on book reviews just comes forward to help you in making a right choice of a book (the spare time one has is really valuable when there are thousands of things to do during the day). Each person has his or her own way in choosing a book to read. Accordingly, I have developed my own way, presented below.

1. Check libraries and bookstores. When you rely on your personal preference on a book to read, skipping recommendations by friends, family, the best way is to roam in libraries and book stores and try to find the titles (read descriptions) that catch you most. It’s not by chance that many people make a successful choice of their favorite books on their own.

2. Read book reviews and blurbs. By doing so, you obtain a list of trusted sources that will help you to keep on making use of them for further reading. These can be a few book review magazines which will become your friend in recommending what books to read.

3. Make it a game. You have already chosen a few books; which one to read? You have read the descriptions of the books, and you still hesitate which book to start with. Make it fun for you by asking others to help you in making the final decision. Write down the book titles on small pieces of paper and ask a friend to pick out the one he wants (if you have children this technique is perfect, when you see the little ones making a  choice for you). And here it is; the problem is solved.

5. Use your friends resource. Almost all of us have a friend or two who have got all the movie and book review updates in their head. Whenever you ask them for a recommendation on a book they are quite there to suggest you one, two and more books, with their own comments, likes and dislikes on the experience they had when reading that particular book.

6. First sight choice. The quick and the first sight choice is most often the right one when you have to dig in piles of books. The cover catches your eyes; the title is interesting; you start reading the first page. What about the last page? You like it, as well. It’s so interesting that a huge number of people choose books to read according to this step, as if relying on the instinct and the first reaction.

My own way of choosing a book to read is the last step. However, I am interested in how other people choose their books. Does covers, publishers, ratings and reviews matter? Or do they give much weight to their friends’ opinion?

You are welcome to leave comments to have a fruitful discussion, where each of us can share our own experience on it.

March 8: Easy Tips to Get a Perfect Gift for Your Girlfriend

March 8th is marked on the calendar as International Women’s Day (IWD).  The holiday has different backgrounds in different parts of the world. In Western countries, it’s much about celebrations on the political, economic and social achievements of women. In Eastern countries the 8 of March is singled out to be a day, when children express gratefulness to their mother, young people express love to their beloved women, girlfriends, spouse expresses his feelings to his life partner and love with a special sign of attention.

As anything else, this holiday has changed its original purpose of the celebration. The history goes back to times when  in the sixteenth century a lot of young people were working away from home in Europe. These were mostly girls, who worked as servants for the rich people at the time. To visit their home and, especially, their mothers, these girls were given a day off which they called Mothering Sunday. The significance of the day was that it was the time of the year when families had the opportunity to get together for a family dinner.

Nowadays, March 8 has become not only a holiday dedicated to mothers, but also a day for women and girls who have got their beloved ones (and not only). Here we are; men are in a rush or panic. What to buy for your girlfriend? How to make her day? I agree with you; it’s not an easy task. For that reason here below, dear men, I am presenting easy tips how make your beloved ones happy and for you to stay happy yourself.

Step 1. Reason your gift before buying it. Think about her style, preferences and the activities she is into. Remember those occasions when she wanted to buy an item so badly. It can be also something that you see and consider it important for her to have (it can be gloves or a hat, a swimsuit or perfume she prefers).

Step 2. Have you thought about an item that nobody else, no woman has on the earth? If not, you are already given the idea to act on.

Step 3. There can hardly be anybody who would prefer a factory mass production item over a handmade one. You will think your skills are not enough for a craft work; actually, you do not need to be a craftsman to make something artistic.Imagine her surprise and amazement when she sees a painting by you, with the least skills you implied to see her face brighten.

Step 4. Flowers. They are always in the right place. You have a brainstorm, as you are stuck in one place with the question “What will be the real original gift for her?” Do not go far, make it simple with a bunch of flowers she likes, give it to her by looking into her eyes with a sentence just out of your heart. Even if she will not like the flowers, your words flowing out of the heart will cover it up.

Step 5. You still don’t know what to buy. Just ask her friends, family, who know her longer than you, as they will point you the right direction to the perfect gift for her.

Step 6. If you date longer than a month, or two, perhaps it’s the time when you can ask her about the gift she desires. This will take you from the ‘lover and sweetheart level’ of a relationship into a mature and a friendly based one.

Step 7. Make her proposal. Why not? This could be the best gift ever!

What Kind of Meditation Suits You Best?

We, the people of the 21st century, have become vulnerable to stress, mental disorders and different health problems. The train is late, your boss treated you unfairly, it's difficult to come to terms with your 15 years old son, or the busy work schedule wears you off by taking away your "life energy; " these are a few examples which lead the person to find out a way to physical and mental relaxation.
None of them was an example of mine. My case was that I wanted to become aware of myself, to be able to regulate my negative thoughts and, through meditation, to notice the colors of life. When pronouncing the word 'meditation' a piece of smile is on the way to appear on my face, as due to it I have become balanced, loving, generous and understanding.

It's quite difficult to choose out of a number of meditation types. In the scope of your priority should be the meditative kind that suits you best. To make things less complicated, you simply need to find out the purpose of your meditation; whether it is for spiritual wellness or chronic diseases. If you are willing to become aware of the others need, or want to become more creative; there are meditations to achieve all your goals. Time is an important factor before choosing a meditation kind. Some of them are practiced for 20-30 minutes during the day. Depending on your ability to meditate alone or with others, you should choose the kind of meditation to practice.  A person with physical limitations can still go for meditations which require movement (meditation can be adapted to a person's physical ability).

So here are five meditation kinds:

1. Transcendental meditation was developed by guru Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, who reached his fame during 1960s-1970s. Dozens celebrities, including the legendary Beatles became the followers of the Maharishi. No particular yoga position is required to practice it. The continuous practice for 20 minutes, two times a day, will be enough to release stress, to give peace to the mind in a natural way.
The meditative process is mantra based. Mantra is a set of 'secret words' which help to concentrate and clear the mind from variety of negative thoughts. Mediators are recommended to keep their mantras secret to achieve a desirable result.

2. Mindfulness, or Vipassana, is perhaps the most popular type of meditation in the West. It is about being 'mindful', aware about everything one does and feels. This is an efficient way to deal with the present situation and problems, achieving peace of mind through awareness. Many times it's hardly possible to change certain things in life, which are already set the way they are; you need harmony and awareness to understand and cope with it. The mediation process includes breathing pattern, which is an unchangeable one.
You will come across to information, where Mindfulness and Vipassana are considered to be two separate meditation forms. Just to mention it, both of them are considered to derive from Buddhism. Vipassana means 'to see things clearly', while practicing this form of meditation clears the mind and body.
While practicing both of them,  you get  aware of your body, as well as your soul. You clearly see and understand the material world, and you just start putting aside the worries you had before.

3. Zen is another famous type of meditation that people practice worldwide. Its roots go to Buddhism and the meditation is practiced in a seated posture. While eyes are close, the mind travels to the insight, to the essential nature of being. You get detached from the past and further, what matters is the now. Mind and body are relaxed; breathing is shallow, after which you find yourself in a meditative state.
Zen meditation is the most 'anti-method' one, as there is no set method or instruction to eat. Accordingly, it will be difficult to have a result in a short period of time, as the individual has to elbow his or her path with the help of the self developed side method to the existing one.

4. Taoist meditation type derives from both Hindu and Buddhist traditions. The process is based on the generation of the inner energy due to which the mediator achieves health or whatever he chooses. Navel and breath meditation are the first steps for the beginners who are willing to practice Taoist meditation. It improves concentration and leads to awareness (not-pointed).

5. Another type of meditation I chose as one of the famous is the Kundalini meditation. It is the concentration in the breathing, that passes through each body energy points heading upward - above to the top of the head. Kundalini is considered to be the awaking our intelligence within us. It is highly recommended to be ready physically and emotionally to awakening that kundalini energy within you. The guidance of an instructor is a must. Those, who practice Kundalini without a respect to it, may suffer from negative side effects, sometimes called as "Kundalini Syndrom."
